my story
When my mother was diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, I didn’t have a clue what that meant. I heard a lot of people saying how destructive narcissists are and I got curious enough to do my own research. In my journey to understand this disorder, I started asking people what their parents were like. It became clear that the very things I experienced in my childhood were narcissistic behavior.

The differences were staggering! I came across so many people who couldn’t grasp the distorted reality created by an NPD parent. It was completely opposite what a mother (or father) was supposed to be. It is generally understood that all mothers have an automatic caring connection to their offspring. But for a narcissist, all connections are focused on them.

There were those who got it, and those who didn’t. I wrote my book to help those who “got it” to discover what the narcissist in their life denied them: their agency. This superpower is what allows us to go from the life long trauma of abuse and confusion to healing and living a fulfilling life. One created on purpose!
"You either take control of your life or it takes control of you.

It’s that simple."
my mission
My mission is to reignite the superpower spark within all NPD survivors: that your ability to make choices for you, without anyone else's input, does exist.

Unless those of us who grew up with NPD parents have done a LOT of work on ourselves, we will first need to learn to THINK for ourselves. Only then can we get to the meat of who we are and finally look forward. We are no longer hyper-vigilantly trying to stay safe, stuck in the lower levels of Maslow's pyramid.

Lisa has been coaching clients since 2021, and is certified through Dr. Sears Wellness Institute. She helps people learn to think their own thoughts so they can discover what it means to use their superpower, their agency. This leads to creating their life their way while still respectfully balancing the needs of others.

Lisa’s favorite hobbies are being taught how to play online video games by, and with, her long-distance adult children, exercising, gardening and sewing. She homeschooled her five children for sixteen years, running a successful homeschool group for three of those years.
